The Highway Advantage: Why LIP Faridabad is a Logistics Game-Changer

In a world where quick commerce and e-commerce have established a strong foothold and are expected to grow even further, to 75% YoY in 2025 and Rs 504 billion in the next three years, respectively, roadways have become more important than ever before. Even for industries such as automobiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, retail, and manufacturing, staying closer to their consumer base is critical in today’s fast-moving economy, where supply chain efficiencies and delivery timelines define competitiveness.

A robust roadway network is likely to enable businesses to tap into new markets in Tier II and Tier III cities while expediting delivery across the country. India’s national highways have become excellent entry points for businesses to access a larger customer base and source raw materials while shipping out finished goods.

At Lodha, we believe in taking advantage of already existing infrastructure to bolster our projects, and the Lodha Industrial Park (LIP) in Faridabad is proof of that. LIP Faridabad offers warehouses and distribution centres strategically located within close proximity to six pertinent routes that connect the cities to different locations across the length and breadth of India.

LIP Faridabad: A Confluence of Six Major Routes

LIP Faridabad allows businesses to set up bases in Grade-A warehouses equipped with modern amenities, plug-and-play features, a steady stream of electricity and water, and more. Not only is the park fitted with wide roads that allow for the smooth passage of cars, trucks, and freight vehicles, but it is also connected to the nation’s road network via six major routes. Here is a list of pertinent national routes near LIP Faridabad and how they serve businesses working out of the warehouses within the park:

KGP (Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway)

The Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway, also known as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, was inaugurated in 2018, and it is the nation’s first smart and green 6-lane highway. It connects Kundli and Palwal in Haryana through Ghaziabad, spans over 135 km, and is part of the larger Peripheral Expressway Project comprising two ring roads that will surround Delhi. The KGP Expressway will pass through Haryana and UP, as well as connected locations like Sonipat, Faridabad, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, etc. It will connect NH1 at Kundli, NH2 at Palwal, NH58 at Murad, NH-24 at Dasna, and NH-91 at Beelakbarpur.

The Expressway was designed with the intention of reducing congestion in the NCR region caused by vehicles heading towards Haryana and UP. The KGP Expressway helps traffic along this route move smoothly and facilitates high-speed travel. The Expressway is estimated to divert more than 2 lakh vehicles that pass-through NCR and reduce the time taken to travel to areas like Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Sonipat, and more. Connecting to Faridabad, the KGP Expressway allows businesses at LIP Faridabad to access a range of locations and enjoy reduced costs and quicker delivery times.

KMP (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway)

The Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, also known as the Western Peripheral Expressway, was inaugurated in 2018. The six-lane Expressway spans over 135 km and covers five districts, including Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mewat and Palwal. The Expressway was designed with the intention of reducing traffic congestion in the national capital region and providing a high-speed link to the northern and southern regions of Haryana.

The KMP Expressway, along with the KGP Expressway, is expected to form a ring road around Delhi and divert more than 50,000 vehicles from the NCR region. The Expressway is also part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and allows vehicles going from North India to Western and Southern parts of the country to travel smoothly without having to pass through NCR. Not only does KMP help decongest the NCR region, but it also allows light vehicles to run at a speed of 120kmph and heavy vehicles at 100kmph. Additionally, the KMP Expressway is also connected to NH919 (Rewari-Sohna-Palwal), NH352W (Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari), and NH148NA (DND-KMP) for enhanced connectivity across the country’s landscape. LIP Faridabad is connected to the Expressway and allows businesses to access roads that connect different areas of the country for seamless long-distance travel and quick deliveries.

NH44 (Delhi-Chennai)

NH44 is the longest highway in India and covers the North-South corridor of the NHDP, running from Srinagar in the North to Kanyakumari in the South. The highway spans across a whopping 4,112 km and connects the extreme ends of the country. It combines various complete or partial national highways across the country, including NH1A in Srinagar, NH1 in Haryana, NH2 in Delhi-Agra, NH3 known as the Agra-Mumbai Highway, NH75 in Jhansi, and more. It passes through 11 states and connects more than 12 cities. NH44 allows for easy North-South travel and has proved to be extremely beneficial as a trade route that helps businesses tap into markets across the nation and do so in quick time. LIP Faridabad is located close to NH44 and allows businesses to set up storage facilities close to a highway that spans across the country, facilitates easy transport of goods to new customer bases, and expedites deliveries.

NE4 (Delhi-Mumbai Expressway)

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will span around 1350 km and will be the longest in India. The Expressway is being designed with the intention of reducing the distance between Delhi and Mumbai from 1424 km to 1242 km, cutting down travel times by 50%. While earlier travelling between the two cities by road would take around 24 hours, the Expressway will expedite the journey and cut it down to only 12 hours. The Expressway is partially functional, with the Sohna-Dausa section inaugurated in 2023 and the full project to be completed by June 2025.

The Expressway will connect Delhi to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Maharashtra via the Sohna Elevated Corridor, Dausa, Kota, Ratlam, and more. It will pass through states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and ending in Maharashtra. The Expressway is not only expected to cut down travel times but will also improve connectivity to financial hubs in various states. Serving as a freight corridor that will connect two major cities, the Expressway will help businesses move raw materials and finished goods to and fro with great ease. LIP Faridabad is close to the Expressway and will help businesses leverage one of the longest and most prominent highways to improve logistics and delivery times.

NH48 (Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai)

NH48 is a lengthy highway that connects the Northern states to the Southern states and spans around 2807 km. The highway connects six states, including Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Delhi. It passes through a host of cities across the length of India and connects various industrial hubs. NH48 will also connect to the Dedicated Freight Corridor, which will be constructed as part of the DMIC along with internal highways like NH248NA (Gurugram-Sohna). Since the highway will connect major cities, it is expected to improve trade movements and create a passage between industrial hubs. LIP Faridabad leverages the connectivity afforded by NH48 to allow businesses to move to densely populated areas with greater ease and promise quick deliveries.

NH2 (Yamuna Expressway)

Yamuna Expressway is a new route built to connect Delhi to Agra and spans around 221 km. The Expressway is a six-lane highway that begins right after Greater Noida and ends in Agra. Well-built, spacious, and fenced-in, the Expressway is likely to reduce travel times between Delhi and Agra to just 3.5 hours. The Expressway will help businesses travel between the two cities without having to deal with congested routes and will be instrumental in improving logistics and supply chain management. It is located close to LIP Faridabad and can be accessed to expedite deliveries in the area at lower costs.

Surrounded by highways and expressways that not only connect locally but also across the landscape of the country, LIP Faridabad is emerging as a popular choice for businesses. Businesses can set up warehousing and logistics facilities at LIP Faridabad and harness the power of India’s well-connected national highway and expressway network to tap into a larger customer base and move their products across the nation with great ease. Businesses can now seize opportunities across key industrial and logistics hubs, including IMT Manesar, Faridabad and Okhla warehouses for rent, the industrial areas of Manesar, Faridabad, Bhiwadi, and Bawal, as well as warehouses in Noida and Gurugram. Additionally, Haryana's industrial zones and logistics service providers are well-positioned to meet the growing demand.
